Litas: It's Love or Hate

This post is my review about Jeffrey Campbell's "Lita" platform booties. 

I'm a serial shoe collector, but I had been resisting fiercely to the Lita mania, considering them too over-exposed (every blogger/girl and their mother was showing off them...). Lately, since they are really standing the test of time and have become a style classic* I decided to go for the Litas and found a version in gray suede, which is very urban and stylish, and less "harsh" than the more common  one in black leather/wooden heel (which is a little too much also for me :-) ). I'm really happy about them: I'm always looking for heels that I can walk comfortably with and they are actually pretty comfortable.

Some notes if you are planning to go for these fashionista heels:

1) They run true to size or even larger, their foot base is pretty wide
2) They are really tall (13 cm heel with a 5cm platform), but thanks to their inner platform and chunky heels they are pretty comfortable to walk with (you just need to watch your steps and a little balance).
3) They are not a shoe for every body type, occasion, ... think if they really fit your style before buying them.
4) Have fun with them! With their volume and height, Litas are really pretty extreme and made for posing in. I try to sport them with "nonchalance" and sense of humour as if they were not some bold towering heels. I like to keep the rest of my outfit pretty basic and stylish, as in the shots above to avoid extra-chunkiness/harshness. Other people will look at you in any case, they are a really a catching-eye model, trust me.

How to Sport Animalier Prints

I'm technically a sucker for animal prints... it seems I just can get enough about these prints, which are an evergreen in Fashion* and really fashionable in the current seasons. Many women love animalier prints, some others think they are a bit "too much". Actually there are many ways to use leopard and animalier prints with style, balancing their inner sensuality and sexiness:

1. Toning it down in colder shades, such as the gray leopard print I'm wearing in this pic, which I find pretty modern and easy.
2. Matching it with "less aggressive" accessories, for instance black leggings/jeans instead of nylons.
3. Another trick is avoiding super short and tight dresses or covering your top, if you are showing your legs, or vice versa, as many stylists suggest.
4. Limiting this print to one/two pieces for outfit (like the dress and scarf in my outfit)
5. Matching the leopard print with blacks or whites, also red and electric blue; another really fashionable way to sport leopard prints is to mix them with other prints (i.e. stripes, another fashion basic).

Look Cuissardes & Shorts: rispondo alle vostre domande

In questo post rispondo alle molte domande che ho ricevuto sul look "cuissardes & shorts" che ho pubblicato qualche giorno fa sulla mia pagina FB (ShoeBuzzbySpikeyV Facebook Page)

1) Perché cuissardes (stivaloni alla coscia) e shorts? Vanno bene anche altre scarpe?

come ho scritto, non sopporto più questo tempo orribile e questo inverno interminabile, almeno qui nel nord Italia, ed ho voglia di togliere calze pesanti, leggings  e tornare a lasciare scoperte le gambe... ho pensato che un modo trendy per farlo, non appena il tempo lo permetterà, sia scoprirle parzialmente portando a nudo degli stivali alti, come i miei amati cuissardes di Miu Miu, abbinandoli a degli shorts.

Si', gli shorts stanno bene anche con altri stivali e sandali con il tacco, oppure con bikers, ballerine o sneakers ... okay, sapete come la penso, il tacco aiuta decisamente a migliorare la figura di ogni donna, che ve lo dico a fare ;-)... comunque se vi piacciono gli shorts, abbinateli alle scarpe che preferite ... se anche una sostenitrice del tacco ad oltranza come Victoria Beckham recentemente porta spesso delle ballerine, potete farlo anche voi ;) ... scherzo ovviamente, non omologatevi mai, scegliete sempre scarpe ed abbigliamento che vi fanno sentire belle ed a vostro agio, nel mio blog condivido con voi i miei gusti, idee, esperienze dirette proprio per dare un piccolo contributo al vostro stile personale  (a proposito guardate in questa quanta sicurezza ostenta Victoria anche con le ballerine....).

2) Cosa hanno di particolare gli shorts J Brand che ho scelto? mi sembrano super giusti.... J Brand e' un marchio di jeans californiani di culto. In effetti questi shorts (ho scelto il modello “cut-off low rise in RingerLow-Rise Cut-Off in Ringer”) hanno una bellissima tonalità del lavaggio, molto sofisticata, ed una vestibilita' fantastica, li ho scelti di una taglia in più, in modo da indossarli bene a vita bassa, un po' "scazzati", non super aderenti e troppo sexy, per portarli piu' facilmente, non solo per la sera od il mare, sono molto morbidi e super confortevoli. Unico difetto ... costano davvero un botto ... Li ho presi lo stesso, perché penso li stra-userò, gli shorts sono un capo base molto facile e continuano ad essere super trendy anche quest'anno... in jeans mi mancavano. A proposito, non so se lo fate anche voi... Quando decido l’acquisto di qualcosa che mi piace, oltre al costo di acquisto in sè, da bravo ingegnere cerco di valutare una specie di cost-per-use, cioè di costo per utilizzo, un capo/scarpa può essere costoso, ma se lo si userà molte volte può avere più senso comprarlo di qualcosa di più econonomico, ma che rimarrà semi-nuovo nell’armadio... : quindi mi chiedo è versatile? a cos’altro lo posso abbinare? è qualcosa che dà un tocco particolare e glam ad un look semplice? quante volte lo metterò con soddisfazione? Gli armadi di tutte noi sono pieni, è meglio riservare spazio e soldi per quello che lo merita (okay, non sono sempre così perfetta, soprattutto per le scarpe ogni tanto compro d’impulso quello che mi piace e basta, altrimenti non sarei una fashion victim ;-) , cerco però di farlo almeno in modo consapevole...)

3) Il giubbino in pelle della foto e' di Balenciaga in una bellissima tonalità di grigio, in questo caso ho resistito, non l’ho comprato ... ne ho altri due di PINKO che stra-uso ed adotterò x questo look.

4) Cos'ha di particolare la t-shirt che ho scelto? Per completare il mio look ho scelto una t-shirt da ragazzina ...stivaloni, shorts e giubbino in pelle insieme sono piuttosto "aggressivi", volevo qualcosa x sdrammatizzare ed esprimere il mio mood primaverile, ho optato per questa t-shirt di Ultrachic Milano, molto tenera, con una paperella rosa su fondo maculato, divertente da portare, ad esempio sotto una giacca in modo che ne spuntino gli occhi birichini...

Io l'ho presa al Duca d’Aosta di Padova, mi sono informata ed a Milano le collezioni di Ultràchic si trovano anche da Banner, Biffi, Gemelli, Farfalle, a Como da Tessabit.
