High heels are like men... : there are good ones who hurt us, those you don’t like from the beginning; those impossible, which can never be yours (crazy expensive/sold out in every store in the world…); those that appeal you at first, but then you realize that they are nothing special… and finally those that you'll never get tire of having with you!*

Well, the heels of these photos belong to this last category… they are a “vintage” pair of Sergio Rossi sandals with little swarovski (I bought them back in 2003...): I never get tired about them...

My "message" for you, girls, in this post is “let’s accessorize"! Nothing new, as super expert fashionistas you already know about this: investing in good accessories, particularly shoes, it’s one of the first "commandment" of any style Decalogue, but also one which (I believe) will never go out of style…

Le scarpe col tacco sono come gli uomini... ci sono quelle belle, ma che fanno male; quelle che non ti piacciono fin dall'inizio; quelle impossibili, che non potrai mai avere (super-costose/esaurite in tutto il globo conosciuto); quelle che all’inizio ti affascinano, ma che poi capisci che non sono nulla di che... ed infine quelle che non ti stancherai mai di avere con te!*... ecco le scarpe di queste foto appartengono a quest’ultima categoria... sono dei sandali vintage di Sergio Rossi con dei piccoli swarovski (li ho presi dieci anni fa nella caldissima estate del 2003...), di loro non mi stanco mai... :-)

La "morale" di questo post, ragazze, è "investite negli accessori"! Da super-esperte fashion lo sapete bene, è uno dei primi "comandamenti" di qualsiasi decalogo di stile, ma anche uno di quelli che (credo) non passerà mai di moda...

Trend SS13: décolleté classiche o super plateau?

In questo post vi parlo di décolleté classiche che, come ho già scritto parlando di scarpe a punta con tacco a spillo, dopo anni di predominio dei super plateau, stanno riprendendo buona parte della scena di cui avevano sempre goduto, insieme a ballerine e mocassini, ma di quest’ultimi vi parlerò in un altro post...

Ho avuto, infatti, l’occasione di partecipare alla prova di calzata di un paio di décolleté con punta arrotondata di Sergio Rossi, le Kalika nella versione in vitellino nero con tacco 10,5 cm e plateau interno 0,3 cm che vedete nella foto stilizzata qui sopra. Si tratta di un modello continuativo che questo brand _ che credo non abbia bisogno di presentazioni per tutte le shoe addict _ propone in diverse versioni, come quella in vernice rossa che potete vedere nella foto qui sotto ed a questo link Kalika vernice rossa

Come chi legge questo blog ormai sa bene, prediligo le scarpe alte e particolari ... quelle più "normali" non fanno di solito perdere dei colpi al mio cuoricino... devo dire, invece, che ho apprezzato la pulizia e semplicità di queste décolletés. Nelle foto per re-equilibrarne l’aspetto classico le ho abbinate ad un look più aggressivo (miniabito di Tally Weijl in ecopelle e jersey e piccolo pellicciotto nero) giocando a fare la diva di un film in bianco e nero...

Ah... per i più curiosi la prova di calzata o test au porté si effettua indossando un prototipo della calzatura stessa in modo da individuarne eventuali criticità e migliorarne l’aspetto estetico, la qualità, il comfort... ed e' un test fondamentale nello sviluppo od ottimizzazione di un nuovo modello di calzatura, in particolare di quelle con tacco alto, che è un lavoro che richiede grande maestria e pazienza...

Sempre per i curiosi, questa è la diva a cui mi sono ispirata (Marlene Dietrich), okay, per divertimento e molto umilmente, credo che in un blog ,come nella vita, l'importante sia non prendersi mai troppo sul serio...

Spikey V.'s Miami Shopping Guide

Are you going to Miami and do you want to make great shopping while there?

1) Read my Miami Shopping Guide post and plan carefully your shopping...

2) Don't look for European design brands, if you are a EU citizen (Most European brands such as Jimmy Choo, Sergio Rossi and Valentino are more expensive in US than in Europe). As many of you are aware, other brands such as Abercrombie, Converse, Tiffany and UGG are cheaper in the US.

3) Rent a car/take a bus  (Miami stores are spread over a large area and rental cars are cheaper than taxis)

4) don’t forget to have some extra room  in your baggage to store your shopping items, if you fly (an extra luggage to be shipped can cost about 100 USD and Miami security controls only allow 2 carry-on luggages per traveller, at least in my last trip )

4) Start and enjoy your shopping trip :-)

1)      Miami Beach – Lincoln Rd.

Lincoln Rd. (between 16^th and 17^th Street), it’s a road closed to traffic and one of the US's first pedestrian malls. This road is crowded of trendy stores, boutiques, restaurants, cafes and art galleries. It's really nice to walk there after the beach or in a relaxed shopping tour.

Aldo - fake jewelry and accessories - really funny and cheap, I bought an "Alexander McQueen" skull clutch with studs replica for 45 USD and some bracelets

Apple Store (for all non US citizens, it’s a must and very convenient)

7 For All Mankind: their skinny jeans are a must, they have a good fit and they are not too heavy and durable(I bought one pair in white)

AllSaints: this British brand is known for "offering sharp edge, directional clothing with a muted palette dominated by blacks, browns, whites and grays." I liked their brick, wood and metal store and bought a white jeans jacket and a simple gray dress (I was not able to find the boyfriend jeans shorts in the picture).

A sophisticated Italian high fashion retail chain where you can find  Ruthie Davis shoes together with Valentino, Sergio Zanotti, …

Virginia Secret - how not to stop there ? (This time I was tempted to buy a pair of their fluffy angel wings, to use them for my next Carnival costume ;-) )

2)      Bal Harbour Shops – 9700 Collins Av. Miami

In Bal Harbour you can find the best and high class luxury stores in Miami, gathered in an open-air shopping mall, stores range from Tiffany, to Prada, Chanel, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Valentino... Interesting place, even if the general attitude of the merchandize is a bit too much "ladylike". Tiffany

Tiffany jewelry are cheaper in US than Europe. I got a small bead silver bracelet with the peace symbol, I was not able to find it in Italy (just a "little accent" to remember my trip to Miami).

3) Aventura Mall - 19501 Biscayne Boulevard Aventura, Fl
If you don’t have much time for shopping, a mall can be a good option: at Aventura Mall, close to Miami International Airport,  you will find brands such as Abercrombie, 7 for all mankind, Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton and soon Cartier…
